What began as a paean to the pet evolved into a collection of writing on the spiritual
connection we share with our animal brethren. Everyone has felt the pain of losing a cat
or a dog or other pet, and many of these works speak to that experience. But the book also
addresses the connection we have with animals in a broader sense; the relationship we have with
these other sentient beings with whom we share this planet. Poetry by Ethel Pochocki, Patricia Ranzoni, Bob Chute, Elise Caswell, Lisa Moore, Nancy Henry, and many others... a short story by Kendall Merriam; a beautiful essay by Tom Stienstra, who writes an outdoors column for the San Francisco Chronicle. Our beautiful cover was created by Irish designer Graham Ryan, and our lovely line drawings are by D. D. Tyler of Hallowell, Maine.
